Another ‘ThunderCats’ Slot Machine Headed For Casino Floors

Earlier this Summer we reported on a new Beavis and Butt-Head slot machine set to debut at online casinos. That game was created by Blueprint Gaming and now the same company is releasing it’s second title based on the 1980’s animated action/adventure show ThunderCats: ThunderCats Reels of Thundera.

ThunderCats was a popular animated series that ran for four years in syndication between 1985 and 1989. Like many shows from the era, the show has maintained a significant degree of popularity ever since and now that it’s original audience is old enough to gamble in a casino the hope is that the theme will draw players in. There’s also a new ThunderCats TV show in production–it’ll be the second ‘reboot’ following what was considered a disastrous 2011 reboot that lasted only 26 episodes. The problem with the reboot is that it was considered ‘too dramatic’ while the upcoming 2019 reboot is going to be more in line with the original series.

The 2011 reboot on Cartoon Network was a little more dramatic in terms of its animation and plotting, but only lasted for a total of 26 episodes. Since the programming on the network is geared more toward kids, it makes sense to tone down the seriousness and make everything sillier. Its animation style looks like it was inspired by one of the network’s hit shows, The Amazing World of Gumball. Will ThunderCats Roar live up to the Thundera name or meow itself into cancellation? We shall find out in 2019.

There will be plenty of ThunderCats references in the gameplay:

ThunderCats Reels of Thundera will be the second instalment of the slot series, with popular characters Lion-O, Tygra, Panthro, Cheetara, WilyKit and WilyKat returning to the reels to battle Mumm-Ra and the forces of evil.

Any spin can awaken the Eye of Thundera to deliver one of seven modifiers, while there are six bonus rounds available for players to experience. Those who trigger the big money round during the Ancient Spirit of Evil bonus can pick up huge wins as they vanquish Mumm-Ra’s influence over Third Earth once and for all.

Blueprint Gaming director of marketing and relationships Jo Purvis had this to say about the game:

“Our original release incorporating the ThunderCats characters proved to be a great success with players and this follow up slot will prove to be the most thunderous gaming experience in the market.”

“With quality graphics and an immersive soundtrack that recreates the fun and excitement of the TV show, players are bound to pounce on this exciting slot as they help the ThunderCats in their quest to battle evil.”

Warner Brothers titles are becoming a popular subject for Blueprint Gaming’s slots–other titles have been based on Mars Attacks, Top Cat and The Goonies.
