Add another state to FanDuel’s list of sportsbook locations. The Flutter Entertainment owned sports betting/daily fantasy sports company has opened their first retail location in New York State at the Tioga Downs Casino Resort. New York is now the fourth state with a FanDuel retail sportsbook presence along with New Jersey, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Here are the particulars of the Tioga Downs sportsbook from their gaming property’s website:
FanDuel’s first-class risk and trading platform has arrived in NY! The new 2,600 square foot sports betting retail location is conveniently located near the main entrance of the Tioga Downs Casino Resort, and features eight betting windows, 27 video displays including a large video wall, three sports tickers, 12 lounge seats, seven high tables, two drink rails, and seating for more than 50 customers.
FanDuel also operates the sportsbook at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. American Racing and Entertainment owns the Meadowlands along with Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs in New York. Company owner and CEO Jeffrey Gural gave these extremely enthusiastic comments about the new sports betting operation at Tioga Downs:
“Our partnership with FanDuel at the Meadowlands has surpassed expectations. Now that legislation in New York has been passed, we look forward to bringing the fun and excitement of wagering on sports to the Upstate region.”
FanDuel Vice President Commercial Retail is equally as pleased with the partnership:
“As we continue to expand our sportsbook operations across the US the opening of our FanDuel Sportsbook at Tioga Downs Casino Resort is a history-making moment for the FanDuel Group.”
“Jeff Gural has been an incredible partner in New Jersey, and joining forces with him and the team at Tioga Downs allows us to bring sports betting to New York sports fans while delivering new jobs and tax revenue to the Empire State.”
FanDuel has become a big player in the nascent US sports betting market. In addition to their retail locations, they offer mobile betting in New Jersey and West Virginia. Their mobile platform is in the final testing stages in Pennsylvania and should be deployed within the next week. In addition, FanDuel along with corporate partner TVG recently announced a multiyear partnership with the Breeders’ Cup that should further extend their brand recognition.
