Parx Casino Unveils Impressive New Sportsbook

Pennsylvania’s Parx Casino recently took the wraps off of their new sportsbook and the result is pretty impressive. Built at a cost of $10 million, other casinos might want to get the phone number of their contractor because the sportsbook looks as if they spent much more. Parx has spent a ton of money over the past few years to upgrade their operations dropping $58.5 million to build the Xcite Center showroom, the Parx Poker Room, the Liberty Bell Gastropub, the Oliveto restaurant and the Parx Casino Beer Garden.

Visually, the Parx Sportsbook is striking even by my jaded standards. Seriously, it provides a sensory onslaught that rivals anything you’d find in Las Vegas. The Parx Sportsbook is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with live tellers available 10 to 16 hours a day depending on what sports are on the board. Throughout the industry, live sportsbook tellers are quickly going the way of bank tellers and Parx is no different. Their Kambi powered online betting platform is already up and running as is their mobile app. In addition, Parx is deploying 18 self-service sports betting kiosks in the sportsbook at throughout the property.

The Parx sportsbook can hold up to 422 people and the theater style seating looks ridiculously comfortable. Bettors can watch the games via a 156 foot HD media wall that can broadcast 36 games simultaneously. If you’re ‘old school’ like I am and remember watching NCAA basketball games on the funky old TV over the deli in Binion’s Sportsbook in Las Vegas you’ll think you’re on a different planet.

Senior Vice President of Interactive Gaming & Sports, Matthew Cullen had this to say about the new sports betting facility:

“Parx Casino is excited to cut the ribbon on the best sportsbook in the country. Parx aims to set the industry standard in this new and fast-growing arena. The timing couldn’t be better as we head into football season. We felt our local Eagles fans deserved to have the ultimate game day destination to cheer on the Birds. Game day will soar to new heights as we present the absolute best gaming and entertainment experience of its kind. We have worked for nearly two years to expand our portfolio of offerings to give patrons the best of all types of legalized gaming. After the recent launch of online sports betting and our real money online casino, the grand opening of Parx Casino Sportsbook completes this mission.”

I’m not going to give them the ‘best sportsbook in the country’ championship belt just yet but Parx is definitely in the running.
