Indiana launched mobile sports betting on October 3 becoming the 7th US state with mobile wagering. Since then, the industry has started to develop fast and furious. Among the sports betting providers offering mobile/online wagering to the Indiana market is the BetIndiana website operated by USA Sports Gaming in partnership with Indianapolis-based Spectacle Entertainment, owner of the Majestic Star Casino in Gary, Indiana.

The BetIndiana website is still in the works but they’re already in the process of building out their data and information services infrastructure. The latest partnership they’ve announced is with international sports data provider Sportradar. Sportradar has established themselves as an important player in data services in the United States market due in large part to some enviable ‘official partnerships’ with many of the big sports leagues in the world:

Sportradar is the leading global provider of sports data intelligence. The nexus between sports and entertainment, we serve leagues, news media, consumer platforms and sports betting operators with deep insights and a suite of strategic solutions to help grow their businesses.

As a trusted partner of more than 1,000 companies in over 80 countries, Sportradar serves as the official partner of the NBA, NFL, NHL and NASCAR as well as FIFA and UEFA. It is also the only provider entrusted to work with the US sports leagues in an official capacity to distribute sports data (NBA and NHL) around the world for betting purposes. The company monitors and delivers insights from more than 400,000 matches annually across 60 sports categories, having developed the industry’s most proficient software while setting new standards for speed and accuracy.

Sportradar will also provide ‘managed trading services’, a somewhat oblique term that refers to financial risk management or what old school bookies refer to as ‘laying off’ bets. Here’s what Neale Deeley, Vice President of US Sales and Gaming, Sportradar, had to say about the deal with BetIndiana/USA Sports Gaming:

“We are pleased to be working with BetIndiana, a true pioneer in the US betting market. Given its focus on mobile and online sports betting, we are well-positioned to provide BetIndiana with the data, tools, and services it needs to succeed for many years to come.”

Frank Ignatius, President & Founder of USA Sports Gaming, is happy to be working with a recognized industry leader:

“Partnering with Sportradar, another business that’s aggressively diving into the US market, was the right fit for us. As a startup in a competitive landscape, it’s crucial that we hit the ground running with a hyper focus on growth. Sportradar gives us the opportunity to do that, and we look forward to continuing our journey with them by our side.”

Sportradar offers a wide array of services to clients–along with the BetIndiana partnership they’ve recently announced a deal to provide ‘OTT’ (over the top) live and on-demand streaming services for Max World Sport, the company behind Thailand’s largest Muay Thai promotion, Max Muay Thai. Sportradar will also act as strategic digital OTT transformation partner, advising Max Muay Thai on its commercial strategy.
