The Kindred Group’s Unibet brand is now live with its second US sportsbook. Following up on their New Jersey launch earlier this month, Unibet branding is now on the sportsbook at the Mohegan Sun Pocono. Earlier this year, the casino signed a deal with Kambi to provide the technology for their online and in-person sports betting facility. The Unibet Sportsbook at Mohegan Sun Pocono opened for testing on September 24. A ‘soft launch’ was held on Wednesday and Thursday and the sportsbook was opened for business on Friday. An official ‘ribbon cutting’ is scheduled for Saturday, October 5.
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment vice president of interactive gaming, Aviram Alroy had these comments on the opening of his property’s sportsbook:
“We wanted a strong partner who shares our dedication to customer experience and values, and we know that together we will offer Pennsylvanians a truly unmatched in-house and soon-to-come online sports betting and casino experience.”
“We’ve aligned with one of the world’s best online casino and sportsbook operators in online regulated markets, which will allow us to offer a best in class experience to our current clients and attract new fans. Introduction of the Unibet offering to the market is a great positive for Mohegan Sun, as well as the state of Pennsylvania.”
Kindred US senior VP Manuel Stan is pleased to be working with the Mohegan Sun Pocono:
“We are excited and proud to partner with Mohegan Sun Pocono to welcome patrons to our new sportsbook and offer a great extension to our online product in one of the largest states to regulate both online sports betting and casino.”
The sportsbook is located to the right of the casino’s main entrance near the valet parking attendant and has seating for approximately 40 people. The facility features six sports betting terminals, one racebook betting terminal, two teller booths and a walk-up food and beverage bar. The 1,130-square-foot lounge is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight and offers betting on NFL, NCAA, NHL, NBA, PGA, professional tennis, boxing, UFC, rugby, NASCAR, MLS, Premier League Soccer, La Liga and Bundesliga.
